Meet Our Ministry Team

Dr. John Bryan

Intentional Interim Pastor

John joined our staff in March 2020. He has served multiple churches across Georgia and is a resident of Appling. His experience in interim settings has allowed him to prepare many churches for God’s next step.
He and his wife, Clare, are blessed to have three grown sons and five sweet granddaughters. 

Bill Dean

Interim Director of Music

Bill joined the Hillcrest staff in February 2020.  He was formerly the worship leader at Bayvale Baptist Church for fifteen years.  He has been a part of high school, youth, and adult choirs most of his life, having also served as Interim Worship Leader several times in the past at Bayvale.  He graduated from Augusta College with a BA in Sociology and a minor in math.  He is retired from the Department of Juvenile Justice after 40 plus years.  He and his wife, Nancy, have been married almost 45 years.  Nancy is a retired school teacher with an MA in Special Education.  They have a grown son and daughter-in-law, and four grandchildren.

Ministry Assistant/Communications Director

Judy began her current ministry at Hillcrest in 2018.  Formerly, she had served at Hillcrest as organist.  Prior to beginning her work here, she served as a Church Communications Specialist for the South Carolina Baptist Convention in Columbia, SC.  She has also served at First Baptist Church Augusta as a Music Assistant for Children and as Church Webmaster/Receptionist.  Judy has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with an emphasis in Internet Management from Limestone College.  She is a member of First Baptist Church Augusta where she is active in the Music Ministry; she is also a member of the Baptist Communicators Association with members across the United States.

David keel

Financial Assistant

David has been overseeing the finances of Hillcrest Baptist Church and School for the last six years. Previously he served as the CFO and COO of the National Science Center. After graduating from Augusta College with a BS in Chemistry, David worked in research for several industries before joining the science center. He has also served as Minister to Students in different churches in the CSRA. He and his wife of 40 plus years are members of First Baptist Church of Augusta where they are active in the student ministry. They have three grown daughters and six grandchildren.
