Our values

Connect to God, Bible, Church, Service, and Mission
At Hillcrest, we exist to glorify God by being and producing spiritually mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We seek to fulfill the Great Commission by sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ with every man, woman, and child and by training those who follow Jesus to be spiritually mature disciples. We believe this is accomplished by focusing all we do around 5 Core Connections every person needs to be a fully devoted disciple of Jesus.

The Goal of Hillcrest Baptist Church Staff and Ministries:

To produce spiritually mature disciples of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:18-20; Ephesians 4:13)

Process Statement

To lead all people to be spiritually mature disciples of Jesus Christ by connecting them to: God, Bible, Church, Service, and Missions.

Connect to God

Our services, classes, and ministries must seek to connect every person to God through the gospel of Jesus Christ. We must clearly present the gospel so that those not in a personal covenant relationship with God the Father through the work of Jesus the Messiah in the power of the Holy Spirit might know their need of salvation, repent of their sin, and surrender all to Jesus as Lord. All those in a covenant relationship with the living God will be encouraged to regularly exalt and corporately worship their Triune God through prayer, singing, biblical teaching, and giving. (Deut 6:4-5, 13; Matt 22:37; Luke 4:8; John 4:22-24, 14:6; Rom 10:9-10; 1 Cor 14:25; 2 Cor 5:17; Phil 3:3; Tit 3:3-7; Heb 10:24-25; Rev 14:7)

Connect to Bible

Our services, classes, and ministries must connect growing Christians to God’s Word in a way that engages their lives. We must present clear explanations of the propositional truths of the Bible so that every unbeliever might encounter the truths of Scripture and every believer may be edified, equipped and established to understand and obey the instructions and commands of our Lord. (Psa 119:11, 105; Luke 11:28; John 14:15-21; Eph 4:11-16; 2 Tim 2:15, 3:16-17; Heb 4:12; Jam 1:21-25; 1 Pet 2:2)

Connect to Church

Connect to Church – Our services, classes, and ministries must provide for relational connections between growing Christians and other believers in our local church family to produce mature disciples. We must provide and strongly encourage authentic, gospel-centered relationships where Christians can be intentionally transparent and redemptive to engage and edify others in this faith family. (Acts 2:42-47; Rom 12:10-16, 14:19, 15:5, 7, 14; 1 Cor 12:25; Gal 6:1-10; Phil 1:5, 2:2; Heb. 10:23-25; Jam 5:16; 1 John 1:3, 7)

Connect to Service

Our services, classes, and ministries must connect growing Christians to spiritual service to edify God’s family. We must provide opportunities for every Christian to use their spiritual gift(s) to build up and encourage each other in the body of Christ as they continue to grow in their relationship to God, His Word and His people. (Matt 22:39; John 13:34-35; Rom 12:4-8; 1 Cor 12:4-7; Eph 4:11-16; 1 Pet 4:10-11)

Connect to Missons

Our services, classes, and ministries must connect growing Christians to the global advancement of God’s kingdom. We must provide opportunities for every believer to engage our community, nation, and world (all ethnic groups) with the gospel of Jesus the Messiah to advance God’s kingdom by obeying the Great Commission through prayer, financial support of missionaries, and going to support the expansion of God’s kingdom. (Matt 28:18-20; Luke 24:45-48; John 20:21; Acts 1:8, 2:47, 4:4, 6:7, 8:1, 4-5, 13:2-5; Philemon 6)
